Dobyns-Bennett Air Force Junior ROTC Visits Florida Aeronautics Sites

KINGSPORT‚¬ During the week of March 28, 2011, the Kingsport City Schools Air Force Junior ROTC unit completed a tour of two Florida aeronautics sites.‚  The 42 cadets from Dobyns-Bennett High School visited Patrick Air Force Base at Satellite Beach, FL and the Kennedy Space Center at Cape Canaveral, FL.‚ 

While at Patrick Air Force Base, the cadets toured the base Honor Guard, fire department, security forces, a dormitory, and received a mission briefing at the wing headquarters.‚  Kennedy Space Center provided many cadets their first opportunity to personally view a moon rocket and experience a simulated lift-off to the International Space Station.

The Dobyns-Bennett Air Force Junior ROTC program is led by Colonel Eric R. Vogt and Senior Master Sergeant Angelo A. Pellitteri.
