A Kingsport Police Department Detective will be receiving the Mark Vance Memorial Award.
On Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM, K.P.D. Detective Justin McConnell will be presented with the Mark Vance Memorial Award by the Front Line Domestic Violence Task Force. Each year, the District Attorney’s Front Line Domestic Violence Task Force presents the Mark Vance Memorial Award to a local law enforcement officer who has gone above and beyond to assist them with the prosecution of domestic abusers. The award is named after Patrolman Mark Vance, a Bristol, TN Police Officer who was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance call on November 27, 2004.
