West Stone Drive bridge work to slow traffic Tuesday and Wednesday
KINGSPORT – A joint project with Kingsport Public Works and the Tennessee Department of Transportation will bring will bring traffic pattern changes and lane closures to the West Stone Drive bridge over the Holston River on Tuesday, March 31st, and Wednesday, April 1. Road work will begin each day at 9 a.m. and continue as long as possible each day with the goal of completing the project in two days. On Tuesday, TDOT will mill the existing pavement of all four lanes on the bridge deck, with city crews then beginning repaving work on Wednesday. As this is a congested corridor at peak hours, motorists are strongly advised to plan ahead and seek alternative routes whenever possible.
