KINGSPORT ‚¬ Beginning Sunday evening August 30, 2015 crews with W&L Construction and Paving will begin working to mill and pave the following streets within the City of Kingsport;
- Netherland Inn Road
- Brookside Drive
- Clark Avenue and Clark Circle
- Sussex Street
- Essex Drive
- Suffolk Street
- Beechnut Drive
- Berkshire Lane
Work on Netherland Inn Road, Brookside Drive/Stone Drive intersection and the intersection of Beechnut Drive/Stone Drive will primarily occur at night during the hours of 6:00 pm and 6:00 am in order to avoid a significant disruption to traffic.‚ This work is scheduled to take place during the week of August 30th.
The remaining streets will be impacted during the day with the work expected to be complete by mid-September.
Motorist are asked to use extreme caution while traveling in these areas.
The $1.19 million contract represents the City of Kingsports efforts to place a greater emphasis on street resurfacing.‚ Within the last twelve months the City, in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, has resurfaced portions or all of; Lincoln Street, Stone Drive, Lynn Garden Drive, Center Street, Rock Springs Road, Gravely Road and Rotherwood Hills.
Separate from this contract City crews will work throughout the year to repair and repave various streets within the City.‚ This work represents an $800,000 investment by the City of Kingsport.
