Kingsport Leadership Programs now taking applications

This program provides learning and development opportunities for talented people interested in guiding our community to new heights for future generations.

You will build your leadership skills while you build your community in Leadership Kingsport!

How it Works:

About 30-35 individuals are selected for each years class based on submitted applications and personal interviews. To graduate, you must engage fully in the process and have the workplace

flexibility to attend day-long sessions monthly from October -May. There is also a team building 2-3 day trip in September and a 2-3 day trip to Nashville in March. You may also have other meetings when completing a community impact project (CIP).

Are you 50 years or older and seeking new challenges?

Consider applying to ENCORE!

ENCORE Senior Leadership is a community education program designed for retirees, near-retirees and other enriched individuals.
Our purpose is to tap into wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership to better our community.

ENCORE stands for Enrich and Nurture our Community, Offer your Resources and Experience.

How it Works:

In order to complete the program, you will need to attend learning sessions one day per week for 6 weeks. We discuss topics related to education, healthcare, government, volunteer opportunities, etc.
You will use your skills and expertise to build our community, do meaningful work you enjoy and meet interesting people in ENCORE.

Are you a high school student with strong leadership skills?

Then consider applying to S.H.O.U.T!®

S.H.O.U.T!® stands for Students Helping Others Understand Tomorrow and is for talented high school students who might someday hold positions of leadership in our region.

The program offers lively, interactive sessions where youll learn leadership skills and important information about our community including volunteer opportunities.

Program days consist of topics such as Know Your Peers, Know your Self, Know your Leaders, Know your Community and Know your Ability.

How it Works:

Students are selected each year based on submitted applications and can choose to attend the full week-long session during either June or July. Classes run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

A graduation is held the evening of the last day.
