Kingsport celebrates National Public Works Week with Thursday event at Farmer’s Market


KINGSPORT ‚¬ The week of May 18 through May 24 is National Public Works Week as declared by the American Public Works Association, and Kingsport public work professionals will be on hand on Thursday, May 22, to demonstrate the work of those professionals who plan, manage and maintain the Citys essential infrastructure, including water, sewer and transportation networks.

Other Public Works group members also will detail the Citys efforts in solid waste collection and disposal, as well as maintenance of public buildings and grounds.

We are blessed by an extraordinary group of employees who are dedicated to serving the taxpayers of Kingsport, Public Works Director Ryan McReynolds said Tuesday. We very much appreciate the community taking a few minutes out of their day to visit with us at the Farmers Market, where we can personally explain the many of services offered by the City of Kingsport.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmers Market, with equipment displays, kid-friendly activities and other information as well as several presentations explaining essential daily operations.
