Keep Kingsport Beautiful Holds Greenbelt Clean
KINGSPORT – Kingsport residents will have an opportunity to Cleanup the Greenbelt on Saturday, April 25 during Keep Kingsport Beautifuls Greenbelt Cleanup, sponsored by Eastman Credit Union and Indian Path Medical Center. The event will kick off at the Greenbelt entrance near East Stone Commons (beside PetSmart) at 9:00 a.m. and will run through 11:00 a.m.
Civic, school and church organizations, scout troops, families and individuals are encouraged to join hands by participating in this event, which is a partnership with the Annual Day of Service and Keep Kingsport Beautiful. Anyone desiring to make a difference in their community and cleanup Kingsports Green Belt is welcome.
Trash bags and gloves will be provided at the kick-off and a drawing for door prizes will be held at the conclusion of the event.
Keep Kingsport Beautiful is excited to partner with Eastman Credit Union and Indian Path Medical Center, as well as the Kingsport Day of Service program, for the 4th year in a row, said Robin Cleary, Director of Keep Kingsport Beautiful. All of these organizations are tremendous advocates of both KKB and the Greenbelt, with Eastman Credit Union having supported the Greenbelt in various capacities for over 15 years. From 9-11 a.m., individuals, families, industry and various civic groups will come together to clean up trash and debris along the Greenbelt trail and Reedy Creek. Day of Service volunteers will be lending a hand at both the Greenbelt and Darrells Dream Boundless Playground at Warriors Path State Park.
The Kingsport Greenbelt is a linear park that connects residential neighborhoods, traditional parks, downtown, commercial districts, schools and activity centers.
