1st Thursday Event in Downtown Kingsport, Thursday December 3rd from 5-8 PM: Santa at the Kingsport Carousel

KINGSPORT – Let the Holidays begin!‚ The Kingsport Carousel is always a happy place and will be especially so on Thursday, December 3rd from 5¢â‚¬8 PM as Santa Milt greets children of all ages for this special late hour session. ‚ Santa Milt is also known as Milton Nelson, one of the original horse carvers and creator of Nellie the horse and Adahy the Wolf on the Kingsport Carousel.‚ All rides are $1.‚ Bring your family and bring your camera.‚ The band organ and sound system will be stocked with Holiday music and the gift shop will be open for shoppers.

There will be a shuttle provided free to the public that will run between The Kingsport Carousel (Santa!) and P & J Antiques on Broad Street.‚ Art in the Heart Gallery will be participating in the 1st Thursday Sip n Stroll event held downtown from 5-8 pm each 1st Thursday of the month.‚ Shops stay open later and several art galleries serve wine and appetizers, and this time a year warm cider is always nice.‚ Over 25 stores and galleries will be participating.‚ Join the movement back Downtown and enjoy the Season with the pretty lights, shopping, good friends and Santa Clause!

Art in the Heart Gallery, located at 246 Broad St., will host a special event on Thursday December 3rd from 5-8 pm: Opening reception for PLACES and SPACES of TRI-CITIES. ‚ Show is on exhibit from December 3-30, 2015.‚ It features some of the areas top artists depicting locations in our beautiful area and many interesting places and spaces.‚ Work is framed and ready for Christmas giving.‚ There is nothing like original art work to say I love you!‚ The Downtown Kingsport Association will be offering complimentary gift wrapping at their office at 229 Broad Street.

Regular public hours of the Carousel are Wednesday ¢â‚¬ Friday 11 AM ¢â‚¬ 5 PM and Saturday and Sunday 1 ¢â‚¬ 5 PM.‚ Birthdays and special events can be scheduled through reservation by calling 423-392-8414.‚ The Kingsport Carousel was established through volunteer effort ¢â‚¬ over 300 volunteers and 700 sponsors made the dream a reality by carving, painting and planning for over 5 years.‚ Since opening to the public on July 10, 2015, the Carousel has hosted over 41,000 riders and visitors from all over the world.‚ The Kingsport Carousel is located at 350 Clinchfield St. Kingsport.‚
