Traffic to be shifted Tuesday onto Netherland Inn Roundabout while construction is finished

KINGSPORT – Continuing construction on the Netherland Inn Roundabout will require traffic to be shifted onto the Roundabout beginning Tuesday, August 2, 2011, eliminating the current right-hand turn option from Center Street to Netherland Inn Road as well as the through option from Industry Drive to Center.

Motorists need to be aware of this change in pattern, as ALL traffic will be require to enter the Roundabout while slip lanes and associated Roundabout tie-ins are constructed. Upon completion in about 30 days, slip lanes will allow traffic from Center to Netherland and Industry to Center to travel through without entering the Roundabout.

As this is a new traffic pattern at a three-way intersection, motorists are asked to plan ahead and yield to oncoming traffic as they enter the roundabout. Again, please use extreme caution in this area given the new traffic pattern.
