NEWS RELEASE
SUBJECT: Kingsport Police Searching for Not So Good Samaritans Who Stole $300 from Wallet Before Turning it in to Lost and Found
DATE: July 22, 2015
CASE #: 15-006696
GENERAL NARRATIVE
On April 5, 2015 at approximately 7:00 PM, an individual lost his wallet at Wal-Mart, located at 2500 West Stone Drive in Kingsport. The individual contacted management to report his loss, and learned that his wallet had been found and had been turned in to lost and found. Unfortunately, however, when he checked his wallet, he found that $300 in cash had been stolen.

A check of video surveillance footage revealed that a white male and white female couple, accompanied by two children, found the wallet. The couple can be seen on surveillance video stealing the $300 from the wallet and then turning the then slightly lighter wallet over to customer service personnel. The suspects fled the scene in a green car, possibly a Toyota.

Anyone who recognizes the couple in the included photo is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.

Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link:
