SUBJECT: Female Suspect Sought in Belk Shoplifting Case

GENERAL NARRATIVE
On January 14, 2015 at approximately 2:45 PM, an unidentified white female suspect with long brown hair attempted to shoplift over $1,500 in clothing from Belk in the Kingsport Town Center (Fort Henry Mall) located at 2101 Fort Henry Drive in Kingsport. Loss prevention officers were able to interrupt the crime in progress and recover the merchandise; however, they were unable to prevent her escape. She fled the scene in what is believed to be a silver Ford Focus compact 4-door sedan displaying a license plate issued by the State of Kentucky. The vehicle was driven by another unidentified individual.

This same suspect has successfully shoplifted from Belk on at least two prior occasions with the total value of her loot exceeding $1,000. Photos of her and the getaway vehicle taken from surveillance video footage are included in this release. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or the vehicle or who may have any information which may help detectives solve this case is asked to contact the K.P.D.
