An individual is wanted by the Kingsport Police Department for cashing multiple counterfeit checks at two local grocery stores.
On August 10, 2013 an unidentified suspect cashed two counterfeit checks at two different locations in Kingsport. He cashed the first check at approximately 2:15 PM at Food City at 300 Clinchfield Street and the second check at approximately 2:50 PM at Food City at 1205 North Eastman Road. The combined total the suspect received for the checks was nearly $1,000. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’10” tall, with a slim build, clean shaven, with short brown hair, in his late 20s to early 30s. When he cashed the checks, he used the alias “Austin Bell.” While both of these locations are in Kingsport, the suspect has also passed multiple other counterfeit checks at other locations throughout the Tri-Cities area. He was last seen driving a late model teal green Audi four-door station wagon. Photos obtained from surveillance video of the suspect and his vehicle are included in this release.
