| Kingsport Police Detectives use forensic evidence to solve a June armed robbery of Dollar General.
On June 30, 2013 at approximately 4:00 PM, a previously unknown suspect entered Dollar General, located at 5215 Memorial Boulevard, armed with a handgun. He brandished the weapon and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk complied and opened the register. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the area on foot. K.P.D. Detectives conducted an extensive investigation, but ultimately it was forensic evidence collected at the scene of the crime that helped them zero in on Anthony Marcum as the suspect. On October 18, 2013 at approximately 6:30 PM, Detectives arrested Mr. Marcum without incident at his residence at Lee Apartments, 607 Dale Street, Apartment #53, in Kingsport.
