A suspect has been arrested in the Holyoke Street attempted murder investigation.
On September 11, 2013 at approximately 11:45 AM, Michael D. Ford surrendered himself to the Kentucky State Police at a gas station in London, KY. He is currently being held at the Whitley County, KY Detention Center awaiting extradition back to Kingsport to face the following charges: 1) Attempted First Degree Murder 2) Especially Aggravated Kidnapping 3) Especially Aggravated Robbery As previously released, on September 1, 2013 at approximately 3:15 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to 1338 Holyoke Street in Kingsport in reference to a stabbing incident. A subsequent investigation by the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division revealed the following: The suspect, Michael D. Ford II, went to this residence and asked the victim, Carolyn Morris, to borrow some money for gas. Mr. Ford and Ms. Morris were acquaintances, so she invited him in and gave him a small amount of money. Mr. Ford became enraged by the small amount and demanded that Ms. Morris give him all of her money. Ms. Morris attempted to leave the residence; however, Mr. Ford closed the door and prevented her exit. When Ms. Morris attempted to escape through the rear of the house via the kitchen, Mr. Ford produced a knife and stabbed her several times in the neck and arm. Ms. Morris suffered from multiple lacerations and was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center Emergency Room for treatment. For additional information, please contact: Ptl. Thomas M.
