| Riverport Road has been closed today due to a downed utility pole.
The City of Kingsport’s Traffic Division has closed Riverport Road for the remainder of the day, Friday, October 4, 2013, due to a downed utility pole across the roadway at 416 Riverport Road. Riverport Road will be closed between South Wilcox Drive and Manor Drive. According to the AEP website, www.appalachianpower.com, the fallen pole has cut power to about 1,200 customers. The incident occurred when a tractor trailer travelling through a parking lot caught an overhead utility line causing three poles to break. Nobody was injured in the incident.
