Kingsport Police have responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
On March 2, 2014 at approximately 1:00 PM, Kingsport Police Patrol and Traffic Units responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of North Eastman Road and Jack White Drive in Kingsport. Their investigation revealed that a 2003 Ford F-350 pickup, driven by a 16 year old white male juvenile (name will not be released due to age) was traveling north on North Eastman Road and in the process of negotiating a left turn to westbound Jack White Drive. As the pickup made the turn, a pedestrian crossed Jack White Drive at the intersection, and the pickup struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian, Mark B. Smith, was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center by Sullivan County E.M.S. for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. At the time of this release, no charges have been filed in this crash; however, the investigation is still ongoing by the K.P.D Traffic Unit. For additional information, please contact: Thomas M.
