| A four year old child has died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident involving an ATV.
On September 3, 2013 at approximately 4:05 PM, a 4 year old child was playing in the yard of 513 Rogan Street in Kingsport. The child was playing with and around an all terrain vehicle (ATV)/4 wheeler that was parked in the yard at the crest of a hill. Apparently the child pushed and pulled the ATV and dislodged it from its resting point. While the child was in front of the ATV it began to descend down the slope toward the house below. The ATV pinned the child against the house. The child received fatal injuries in the accident. At the time of the accident, the engine was not running, nor was the key in the ignition of the ATV. The investigation is ongoing by both the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division and Traffic Unit, but currently no charges have been placed.
