| SUBJECT: | Search Warrant by K.P.D. Vice Detectives Nets Two Arrests | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE |
| On October 23, 2014 at approximately 9:45 PM, Detectives from the Kingsport Police Department’s Vice Unit, with tactical support from the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Team, executed a search warrant at a residence located at 3413 Stafford Street in Kingsport. The execution of this warrant came as a result of a lengthy investigation into crack cocaine trafficking in the City of Kingsport.
As the officers entered the dwelling, the occupants were in the process of attempting to destroy contraband by flushing it down a toilet. Approximately four ounces of crack cocaine, with an approximate street value of $12,000 was located in the toilet in question. Additionally, approximately six grams of marijuana was located on a spice rack in the kitchen. Several rocks of crack cocaine were found in the kitchen sink, and multiple kitchen containers and utensils contained residue that tested positive for cocaine, leading detectives to reasonably conclude that the residents were involved in the process of “cooking” crack cocaine. Detectives also seized nearly $1,000 in cash believed to be profits from illegal drug sales. Two individuals, Quincy James and Jasmine Carr, were home at the time the search warrant was executed. Mr. James was arrested and charged with: 1) Possession of over ½ Gram of a Schedule II Drug (Crack Cocaine) within 1,000 feet of a School Zone 2) Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Drug (Marijuana) 3) Maintaining a Dwelling where Drugs are Sold, Stored, Manufactured or Distributed 4) Tampering with Evidence 5) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Ms. Carr was arrested and charged with: 1) Simple Possession of a Schedule II Drug (Crack Cocaine) 2) Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Drug (Marijuana) Both suspects were initially processed in the Kingsport City Jail and later transferred to the Hawkins County Jail for confinement. The Kingsport Police Department would like to thank the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this operation. |
