KPD e-News Release: Missing Endangered Child Alert Update
GENERAL NARRATIVE |
On June 19, 2015 at approximately 12:30 AM, the Kingsport Police Department, with assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, issued a Missing Endangered Child Alert on a 12 year old female juvenile who was possibly in the company of a 31 year old adult male either in or en route to Alabama. Approximately an hour and a half later, the female was located safe in Bibb County, Alabama by Officers of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, and the Missing Endangered Child Alert was rescinded.
The 31 year old adult male in question is in law enforcement custody in that jurisdiction on unrelated charges. A cooperative investigation between the Woodstock Alabama Police Department and the Kingsport Police Department is ongoing with possible charges pending in either or both jurisdictions. As this is an active multi-jurisdictional investigation with a potential juvenile victim, no additional information will be released at this time. |
