| SUBJECT: | Kingsport Police Conduct Homicide Investigation | ||

| GENERAL NARRATIVE |
| On July 4, 2014 at approximately 1:15 AM, Kingsport Police Patrol Officers responded to Allen Creek Apartments, 411 Allen Drive, Apartment #108, in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers located Stephen P. Chastain (22 year old white/male) deceased from apparent stab wounds inflicted by his older brother, David L. Chastain (26 year old white/male).
Detectives from the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division were summoned to the scene. Based upon evidence collected, facts uncovered, and witness statements taken during the on-scene investigation, detectives have determined that this case will be presented to the Sullivan County Grand Jury on a date to be determined to ultimately decide what, if any, charges would be appropriate in this incident. Due to the ongoing nature of this investigation, no further information will be released at this time. |
