| GENERAL NARRATIVE |
| The following information is being disseminated by the Kingsport Police Department at the request of the Kingsport Fire Department:
The exit ramp from southbound Interstate 81 to westbound Interstate 26 (Exit 57B toward Kingsport) will be closed for the next several hours due to a tractor trailer fire. Kingsport Central Dispatch was notified of the fire at approximately 1:00 PM today, June 17, 2014. The Kingsport Fire Department, supplemented by at least two area Volunteer Fire Departments, are still on scene dealing with the fire, with the Tennessee Highway Patrol assisting with traffic control. No one was injured in the fire. Motorists are urged to plan ahead and be prepared to take an alternate route. |
