KPD e-News Release: Additional BB Gun Vandalisms Reported/$2,000 Reward Still Being Offered

On October 2, 2014, the Kingsport Police Department issued a news release regarding malicious vandalism occurring at various locations along Stone Drive in Kingsport. All of these incidents involved property being damaged by being shot with a BB or pellet gun.
One of the many incidents occurred at Courtesy Chevrolet, located at 1220 East Stone Drive where four vehicles were vandalized to the tune of over $3,000 in damages. Courtesy Chevrolet has offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible. Since the issuance of the previous news release, other similar incidents, involving property being damaged by being shot with a BB or pellet gun, have been reported at several other locations along Stone Drive. Vandalisms have occurred at Free Service Tire, located at 2741 East Stone Drive, Rick Hill Imports, located at 861 East Stone Drive, and Kingsport’s Kar Korner, located at 2100 West Stone Drive. Detectives are asking for anyone who may know who has been committing these malicious acts of vandalism to contact them in the Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: http://police.KingsportTN.gov/Citizen_Feedback As previously released on October 2, 2014: Kingsport Police Detectives are investigating several incidents of malicious vandalism that have occurred at various locations along Stone Drive in Kingsport. The dates these incidents have occurred range from September 22 through 30, 2014. All of these vandalism incidents have involved property believed to have been damaged by being shot with a BB or pellet gun. On September 26, 2014 employees of Title Max, located at 1112 East Stone Drive, reported that the glass front door of the business had been shattered during the previous night. Damage was estimated at $500. On September 28, 2014 a resident of Kingsport West Apartments, located at 212 Lewis Lane just off West Stone Drive, reported that a window on her vehicle was shattered during the previous night. Damage was estimated at $500. On September 28, 2014 several incidents of vandalism were reported at an unoccupied commercial building located at 4540 West Stone Drive. The glass front door of the building and multiple windows of two separated vehicles parked in the parking lot were all shattered. Total damage was estimated at $2,500. On September 30, 2014 employees of Timberline Barns, located at 4200 West Stone Drive, reported that windows in three different yard barns had been shattered during the past week. Several BBs were found around the area of the yard barns. Damage was estimated at $500. On October 1, 2014 employees of Courtesy Chevrolet, located at 1220 East Stone Drive, reported that four different vehicles on the lot were damaged by being shot repeatedly with a BB or pellet gun in both the window glass and sheet metal body areas. The vandalism occurred during the previous night. Total damage was estimated at $3,000. Courtesy Chevrolet has offered a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for their particular incident; however, detectives believe there is a strong probability that all of the above incidents are related.
