Kingsport To Launch New Website
The City of Kingsport will be launching its new website www.kingsporttn.gov at the Board of Mayor and Alderman Meeting at 4:30pm on June 1, 2009. The site will be the new home of all of the departments of the City of Kingsport, including Fire, Police, City Schools, Office of the City Manager, Public Works and more. It will contain information and links to various sites of interest in Greater Kingsport and the region, including‚ parks, shopping centers, resturaunts, public art, special events, and more.‚ The site will be the easiest way to contact your local officials in Kingsport and the City Manager will have a blog that will be updated with the City Manager’s latest thoughts.‚ The new site will‚ show the current temperature and weather conditions in the City of Kingsport, as well as a map feature that will grow over time to include a number of points of local interest.‚ Plus, there are links‚ for easy viewing of‚ Board of Mayor and Aldermen agendas and minutes as well as other public documents including, operating and capital improvement budgets and independent audits of City finances.‚ The City of Kingsport has put a lot of time and effort into this new website to better serve citizens, providing more transparent and efficient government and a far more effective means of communicating interactively with local, regional and national audiences.
