Kingsport to celebrate National Public Works Week with Thursday event at Farmer’s Market
KINGSPORT ‚¬ The week of May 17 through May 23 has been declared National Public Works week by the American Public Works Association, and Kingsport public work professionals will be observe the week on Thursday, May 21 with demonstrations covering the work of those who plan, manage and maintain the Citys critical infrastructure, including water, sewer and transportation networks.
Other Public Works group members also will detail the Citys efforts in storm water management, solid waste collection and disposal, as well as maintenance of public buildings and grounds.
We are blessed by an extraordinary group of employees who are dedicated to serving the citizens of Kingsport, Public Works Director Ryan McReynolds said Tuesday. We very much appreciate the community taking a few minutes out of their day to visit with us at the Farmers Market, where we can individually explain the many of services offered by the City of Kingsport.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmers Market, with equipment displays and other information provided as well as several presentations explaining essential daily operations.
