Caroling at Christmas in the Park
Across from Kingsport City Hall, Glen Bruce Park has been filled with decorations to make the season bright as Kingsport’s Christmas in the Park gears up for a night of holiday festivities for the whole family.
On December 17, Downtown Kingsport will be filled with the sights and sounds of Christmas cheer as the park welcomes carolers from Lamplight Theatre to perform classic carols by the light of over 25 illuminated trees. These festive firs were donated by Home Depot and carefully decorated by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, city departments and community partners.
In addition to carolers, Christmas in the Park will be proud to welcome a very important guest coming straight from the North Pole. Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to come meet Santa Claus as he wanders the park, and may even spot another Christmas visitor from Whoville among the trees. While taking in the sights, attendees can enjoy fresh hot chocolate available at no charge (while supplies last).
“We are very excited to showcase our newest holiday event in Downtown Kingsport on December 17,” said Alderman James Phillips. “Families are going to love coming down and walking through what feels like a scene out of a Hallmark movie. I truly believe you won’t find a better event to put you in the Christmas spirit.”
The fun starts on Friday, December 17 from 6 – 8 p.m. There is no cost for entry. This outdoor event is subject to change in the case of inclement weather. If you can’t make it to this event, don’t worry—Christmas in the Park is going on from now until January 3, so come down and see all the decorated trees and lights.
