CASE #: | 16-011962 (Holston Valley Medical Center)

GENERAL NARRATIVE | |||
On June 6, 2016, an unidentified suspect stole a wallet from a woman’s purse while she was at work at Holston Valley Medical Center, located at 130 West Ravine Road in Kingsport. The purse had been left behind the counter of the nurses station where the victim worked.
The following day, the same suspect stole a second wallet from another woman’s purse while she was at work at the Kingsport Town Center/Fort Henry Mall, located at 2101 Fort Henry Drive. The purse had been left behind a checkout counter in the store where the victim worked. Immediately following both wallet thefts, the suspect used debit and/or credit cards from the wallets to conduct numerous fraudulent transactions throughout the Kingsport area. Charges were made at Dollar General, Wal-Mart, Zoomers, Valero, CVS, and Walgreens. Photos of the suspect, captured on surveillance video at the scene of one of his crimes, have been included in this release. He appears to be a light-skinned black male with dreadlocks and a beard. On the video he looks to be wearing a Bob Marley tee-shirt. Anyone who recognizes him or who may have any additional information which may help solve this case is asked to contact Detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111. Alternatively, if an individual who is able to supply information related to this or any other case wishes not to be identified, tips can be submitted anonymously via online “Citizen Feedback” forms available at the following link: http://police.KingsportTN.gov/Citizen_Feedback On a related note, women are encouraged to take steps to completely secure their purses while they are at work or anytime the purse is out of their sight or immediate control. While crimes such as this may not happen every single day in Kingsport, they are not exactly uncommon either. |
